Let water reduce slightly below the rice level, then lower the heat. Place a tight lid on the saucepan and simmer for 20 minutes. Do not remove cover while cooking; the steam will cook the rice. Place drained rice in the rice cooker and add measured water, oil and salt. Cover rice cooker, turn it on and cook for 30 minutes. Do not remove cover while cooking; the steam will cook the rice. Fluff with fork and serve. Note: Use more water for softer rice and less water for firmer rice.
